Board of Estimates hosts Taxpayers' Night

Make your voice heard on Baltimore's budget!

The Board of Estimates will listen to public comments on the Preliminary Fiscal 2020 Budget, which will be available in Budget Publications by March 28, 2019.

The goal of the Board of Estimates Taxpayers’ Night is to equip city residents with the budget information they need to engage in the budget process and understand how the Fiscal 2020 budget invests tax dollars to move Baltimore forward. Additionally, the Board of Estimates holds a one-hour hearing for public comment on the budget.

From 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m., residents will mingle with staff from the Bureau of the Budget and Management Research (BBMR) and other city agencies to learn about the proposed Fiscal 2020 budget and policy outcomes.

From 7:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., residents can sign up to address the Board of Estimates and make their voices heard on the Preliminary 2020 Budget. Speeches are limited to two minutes per speaker. You can sign up to speak upon arrival to address the Board of Estimates. 

The event will be held on the 1st floor of the War Memorial building. Food and beverages will be provided!

The War Memorial is located on MTA routes Blue, Orange, Purple, Red, 54, 67, 76, and 80. It is also accessible via the Metro’s Shot Tower/Market Place stop. Limited parking is available in front of City Hall; paid parking is available in the Lexington and Fayette Street garages.
